One valuable lesson from Tokyo!

valuableLesson

Olympics in Tokyo was a stellar in many ways, although Sunday’s grand finale had low turnout.

But what caught my attention is the high intensity and the high degree of professionalism the entire event was executed without much fuss about Covid cases.

Japanese are masters in pulling off any big event. We saw how Japan was transformed to what it is today after two nuclear weapons were detonated over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945, respectively.

76 years after, Japan was a home to 11,091 participants from more than 205 countries, including those responsible for bombing!

Why am I talking about Olympics?

As I had mentioned in my last Tuesday Thoughts, business is all about delivering the right customer experiences. Just like Japan, when everyone was against holding Olympics, it went ahead with confidence and pulled off one of the biggest events the world has ever known.

My question to you is — can’t we imbibe the same spirit of execution and deliver the experience to our employees and customers, just like Tokyo?

If you observe, Tokyo saw opportunity in pandemic.

As they say, rebuilding begins from home. So, it’s time to put employee experience on the map. They are the closest to us.
